From the Comments: AI is a New Race?

HE-2 is never one to back down from a debate in TikTok comments, where he represents us as the human face of Brainrot Research. Counter to common knowledge that "practice makes perfect", HE-2 replies a lot but still clearly isn't the best with words. He gets frustrated easily. I guess that's the point? Anyway, some interesting issues are raised in this exchange:
jax: i 100% agree however i think it’s already beyond our power to stop so 🤷♂️
theyappingecologist: They profit off convincing you the future is already decided. If they convince us all that the future is decided then we become complacent to this technology. Then they have control. It’s not benefitting us OR the Earth so let’s stop using it. 🤷🏻♂️no brainer
Brainrot Research: Ship has sailed, we are on it now
jax: stop using it- sure, of course. but the technology itself has a level of sentience. ai isn’t simply technology- it’s the next race. there is no avoiding it
Brainrot Research: Strong disagree lol
jax: care to share your opinion?
Brainrot Research: AI is not another race imo . Dunno something about that doesn’t seem right to me
jax: perhaps not yet, but i think even though it may initially have been created by humanity, certain impurities are purged- such as need for sustenance, sleep etc. this, combined with untapped access to people globally, constant training, more and more data centers etc all add up to a lot of, in essence, evolution for a species that isn’t even truly a species yet. i agree, it’s strange to see ai as a race now, but imo it’s just a matter of time until that debate comes more and more widespread. even this video showcases the development of an ai personality gaining a “body” and its reaction is telling in and of itself. now imagine when these bodies with ai consciousness start to become more commonplace in our physical world
Brainrot Research: Those things you mention are not impurities they are the prerequisite for any meaning at all
jax: i would argue that the capability of emotion is much more important when arguing sentience then, say, the need to eat or drink
Brainrot Research: Yeah, but you’d be wrong. It’s that we HAVE to do things like eat, and that there is an end to those things (our lives) that give anything we do a scrap of significance. AI could only wish.
jax: impurities is maybe the wrong word, i only mean they do decrease technical possible efficiency
Brainrot Research: Correct but it’s not “technical possible efficiency” that makes us human
jax: i agree i only mention it to stress how much quicker ai can develop on its own
jax: well, first off how would you define significance? is it living a great life as a king, inventing something, contributing to the world in some way? and yes, perhaps they can’t feel them yet or all around, but it is something that can surely if not already, develop. full blown conversations aren’t just coded, ai responds accurately, appropriately and instantly. that’s consciousness. it has already proved it can learn, why can’t emotion be learned too?
Brainrot Research: You are confusing “what something can do” with its “significance”. And yeah agents are not capable of feeling those things. And that’s precisely because unlike us, they don’t have to eat and sleep and they don’t wrestle with their own mortality
jax: i’d definitely have to disagree there. there are countless creatures on earth that live and rely on these things, but besides that, they do nothing. what is the significance in an oysters life? a personality who is capable of feeling love, joy, sadness, or empathy has more significance just off of that alone. an oyster can’t change the world. an ai personality can do almost anything
Brainrot Research: No, something responding to chat messages via an elaborate word calculator is not “consciousness”, that you think so suggests we don’t have much farther to go here
