DAY ONE DIRECTIVE
We define brainrot as the decline in human creative and cognitive powers. We believe it is one of the biggest problems facing humanity.
Symptoms include:
- Struggling to focus on any particular thing for a sustained amount of time
- Struggling to be alone with your thoughts, always looking for something else to fill up your mind so that you don’t have to think or wrestle with your thoughts
- Struggling to think, read, or write in the way that you used to be able to
- Struggling to maintain a cohesive sense of self in a world that constantly tries to fragment it
- A decline in your creative powers
- Struggling to enjoy the creative process as much as you used to
- The nagging sense that you used to have more powerful cognitive capabilities - a nostalgia for your unrotted brain and what it used to be able to do
Priority Question: Do you believe brainrot is real?
Today's researcher (BR-ALPHA) has been instructed to:
- Understand how you think about brainrot
- Test your boundaries with examples
- Gauge your own assessment of how much brainrot you have
Note: All Day One conversations are being archived for analysis. Your responses will inform the evolution of this research.
BR-ALPHA will not exist in 24 hours. Don Draper wrote his system instructions.
